BIO

Rebecca Spivack was born in Boston, Massachusetts.  She received both B.F.A. and M.F.A. degrees in painting from the Rhode Island School Of Design in Providence and attended The California College of the Arts in Oakland. Her work has been exhibited in the U.S. and abroad in solo and group shows including the Fuller Gallery, Andrew Edlin and Marloe galleries and at the French Consulate in New York City. And in Paris she exhibited at the Cite Internationale des Arts, Korean Cultural Center and at the Gallerie Antoine Candau.

 She has been the recipient of grants and residencies from The Ministry of Exterior Affairs and The Cite Internationale des Arts in Paris, France, the Martha Boschen Porter Fund in Connecticut, CodaWorx, Madison, WI, Tilda Stone Memorial Award and a Teaching Fellowship from the Rhode Island School of Design. 

While living and working in France, Ms. Spivack taught painting, drawing and design at the Parsons School of Design and at NYU‘s Paris programs. She also was invited to teach as a visiting artist at Brown University in Providence, RI.
